I am really desperate for space for new plants we are potting for our Fall Sales and Next Spring Sales.

Oh yes while I think of it – my granddaughter, Madison, started her own business called “Home and Garden Art by Madison”.  She creates and paints signs like the photo below and these will be available this weekend.  Help us support Madison and her new business by purchasing one of her creations.

I want to approach these next plants, especially the price with “Extreme Caution”!  What I mean is, I’m getting vibes that some people are thinking of calling the guys in white coats to come and get me and this might put them over the edge!  So PLEASE help me get these out of here before they see this!

Here we go: A lot of people don’t think about their winter landscape now and how they can get color into that season and still have a good looking summer plant.  The answer is Red Twig and Yellow Twig Dogwoods.  We have several kinds.  We have one that gets dark red branches in the winter and has variegated leaves in the summer.  Showy Yellow Twig Dogwoods have brilliant yellow branches in winter making a great combo with a Red Twig Dogwood.  I have some in my landscape and I’m putting some of those things, ah solar lights under them to illuminate the colors at night in winter time.  I’ve seen it and it is beautiful!  All of these dogwoods bloom in the springtime and they are just starting now!  Fact is I went a little crazy growing these so we have a good supply and SPECIAL PRICING FO $4.97 EACH ONLY FOR THIS WEEK.

Another “white coat” special is our Cotoneaster Queen of Carpets, a great groundcover that grows less than 10” tall at the ridiculous price of 2 for $5.97

Also I have a good supply of Kumson Forsythia for the SPECIAL LOW PRICE OF $4.97 EACH. It has variegated foliage and beautiful yellow flowers in early spring.

I hope those that think I’m a little crazy really don’t see this either. We have Aronia Chokeberry “Viking” that has beautiful green shiny foliage and white flowers in Spring and then leaves turn red in Fall and then those Blackberries that are full of antioxidants ripen and are ready to pick!  Your probably way ahead of me but yes they are only $4.97 each.

I do have some plants that are large in size, or in larger pots and are more costly to grow. For example, larger Old Fashioned Lilacs at $9.97 each.  A steal at that price.

I must be crazy selling so many shrubs and perennials at $5.97 each. Many people including my wife, friends and relatives say the same thing, your crazy! Many people who read my ad on Face Book last week and came to the sale said when they read the ad they thought that it was either to good to be true or it was the best deal they had seen on shrubs and perennials so they came. I didn’t have to ask them what they thought after they pulled carts around the display beds and came to the check out tent with a wagon full of plants, some with as many as three full wagons!

This is a partial list of what you can get for $5.97 each. We have four kinds of Weigela including Red Prince, Java Red, Tango, and Minuet, the dwarf of the bunch. They have bell shaped flowers and Humming Birds love them. You need to come to this week’s sale because many of these are in full bloom and are worth the trip to see!

 

I have five different kinds of Spirea including Gold Flame, Lemon Princess, Neon Flash, Gold Mound, and Little Princess and a couple of others. Little Princess is one of my favorites because of its compact size and cute little blooms. They are great for adding color without taking a major amount of area in your landscape.

Just thinking out loud and it just crossed my mind (what little I have left), that we have Honeysuckle Butterfly, a great yellow flowering shrub that attracts bees and butter flies and is a native.

We have Pee Gee Hydrangea with there showy cone shaped blooms and Pee Wee Hydrangea with there oak shaped leaves and white turning toward pink blooms both add beauty to any landscape. We have a very limited supply so hurry on over and yup, only $5.97 each.

Oh yes, we have that blooming machine Potentilla Gold Drop that keeps on giving all summer long. Every landscape needs these and we have Potentilla Abbottswood with its great white blooms. I really must be out of my mind selling these for only $5.97.

Oh boy, it’s getting late, my mind is wondering, I’ve got to focus, and oh yes we have a very limited supply of Burkwoodii Viburnum and the fragrance rivals any fragrant perfume I’ve ever smelled. We also have Viburnum that keep blooming all summer long. Oh come on brain, yes the Summer Snowflake. You really need this in your landscape and only $5.97 each! These are a steal!!!!

Look, I know I’m crazy for selling shrubs and perennials at this price but I really need the room for those little baby plants my crew is busy potting up right now!

We have lots of super colorful coral bells, several kinds of Astilbe that will brighten up your landscape and we have some varieties great for full shade and part shade. If you have a shade area, combine these with some of our colorful Hosta and you’ll be delighted!

Then we have beautiful Ninebark Nugget and Royal Ninebark. Plant some of each in your landscape and you will have a great color contrast to enjoy! If I’m not here when you get here, you’ll know they threw me in the asylum for selling these so cheap!!!

I must be crazy selling so many plants at $5.97 each and many people who come to these annual events tell me the same thing! My aged mother couldn’t remember my name the last years of her life but she always could remember to call me the crazy one and now I think she may have been right! Ah, a mothers wisdom!

This is a partial list of what you can get for $5.97 each. Plants like Red Prince Weigela, Java Red Weigela, Minuet Weigela and a few more I can’t think of now. The humming birds are attracted to Weigela especially the Red Prince with its red, bell shaped flower.

I have five different kinds of Spirea including Gold Flame, Lemon Princess, Neon Flash, and couple of others. They are great for adding color without taking a major amount of area in your landscape. Oh man we have a good supply of Bridal wreath and Bridal veil that are great for hedges and put on a unbelievable display of white flowers in the spring.

Oh yes we have Honeysuckle Butterfly, a great yellow blooming shrub that attracts bees and butterflies.

Oh yes, we have that blooming machine Potentilla Gold Drop that keeps on giving all summer long. Every landscape needs these and we have Potentilla Abbottswood with its great white blooms. I really must be out of my mind selling these for only $5.97.

I took a little break writing this and took a walk outside to look at the plants. Along the way I passed my two Burkwoodii Viburnum and the fragrance rivaled any fragrant perfume I’ve ever smelled. You can’t beat the natural smell of these and we have several kinds of Viburnum for only $5.97 each.

Look, I know I’m crazy for selling shrubs and perennials at this price but I really need the room for those little baby plants my crew is busy potting up right now!

We have lots of super colorful coral bells, several kinds of Astible that will brighten up your landscape and we have some varieties great for full shade and part shade. If you have a shade area, combine these with some of our colorful Hosta and you’ll be delighted!

Then we have beautiful Ninebark Nugget and Royal Ninebark. Plant some of the Royal Ninebark in the back and some Ninebark Nugget in front of it and you will have a great color contrast in your sunny landscape. We have Itea Henry’s Garnet with its hanging white blooms. You won’t believe the size of these things and only $5.97 each. We have Mock Orange, Caryopteris, Callicarpa, and the list gos on and on!

Uh Oh, almost forgot (another sign of aging) about Lilacs. How could I forget something that blooms so beautiful and smells so good? Hey, we have Old Fashion Lilac, Miss Kim, and a bunch more of these for only $5.97 each. How crazy is that? Trust me it is white coat crazy. If I’m not here when you get here, you’ll know they threw me in the asylum for selling these so cheap!!!

We have some Aronia Chokeberry Viking and Elderberry Sambuscus for those who like their berries and want it as a part of their landscape.

One of the most popular ground covers we sell is the Blue Rug Juniper. These are great looking plants and if you’re looking to cover a bank or even use around your landscape, you can’t find anything better and only $5.97 each.

Okay, I do have some plants that are larger and are more costly to grow that sell for slightly more but are at or near wholesale prices. Trust me, they are a fantastic deal.

Okay here are a few of what I’m talking about. If you have a neighbor that is driving you crazy, we have Emerald Green Arborvitae that will give you the privacy you deserve. Plant these about 3’-4’ apart and I’m telling you it won’t be long until no neighbor problem.

We have Flowering Cherry Trees, Weeping Cherry Trees, Golden Curl Willows, lots of different kinds of Azaleas blooming now and lots of good sized Rhododendrons that will bloom through May. Oh yes, we have White Blooming Dogwoods, Pink Blooming Dogwoods, Red Blooming Dogwoods, Lionsville Arborvitae, Golden Globe Arborvitae, Aronia Chokeberry Brilliantissima, (Red Berries) and much, much more.

When I went out for that walk a few minutes ago I found a whole bunch of different kinds of Japanese Maples. Boy how do you forget those? So much to do, so little time!!!!

Another Plant Sale Year has arrived and to say thank you we “appreciate your business” our first sale is unadvertised to the general public. We have this first sale for our friends, customers, their friends and relatives. Please feel free to bring others and to pass this along. We would sure appreciate it.

Wife Adds Blessing To Continue Selling Most Shrubs & Perennials

Yup, just like in any good marriage we compromised. I admitted that I probably am a bit crazy, okay maybe a lot on the crazy side and she agreed!! See how simple that was. Wait a minute, something doesn’t quite sound right about this compromise.

Oh well, the important thing is we still have thousands of shrubs and perennials available for $5.97 each. Get a pencil or pen and paper and write down what you want. Now is the best time of the year to plant shrubs, perennials and trees. Here is a partial list.

                                     

This is the Scotch Broom everyone wanted from our landscape this past June. This is one of the three blooming colors we have it in. You need at least one of these in your landscape.

This is a Java Red Weigela. We also have Red Prince, Variegated, and Minuet (Dwarf) Weigela available. Come and take a look. Several of these bloom two times a year and these are very hardy!

This picture is a load of Gold Flame Spireas. As fall goes along they become a deeper golden yellow and red. We also have Anthony Waterer, Lemon Princess (Bright Yellow) and Little Princes Spireas as well. A beautiful plant and Deer Resilient.

We have Viburnums like the fragrant Burkwoodii as well as the Arrowwood, and the blooming machine Summer Snow Flake Viburnum. We have the Ninebark Nugget and Ninebark Royalty in 3 gal. containers for only $5.97 each. That is an unbelievable steal. Kinda like getting into Fort Knox and getting away with the gold! Almost had the wife calling the guys in white coats to come and get me for being this crazy. We have Hydrangea’s like Nikko Blue, Parzifal, Annabelle, Mariesii with variegated leaves, and the beautiful Masja with its fantastic RED blooms! These are a fantastic buy and this is the last you will be able to buy these at only $5.97 each.

Got neighbors that are driving you crazy? I have Emerald Green Arborvitae and Bridal Wreath and several other plants that make good hedges. Then we have Red Sprite (Female) and Jim Dandy (Male) Holly. You need these to feed you birds over the winter.

We have Summersweet Clethra that bloom late June into September. We have a white and a pink blooming one. We have ground covers like Blue Rug Juniper, Cotoneaster that grows only 8” tall with white flowers in spring and red berries in the fall. We also have Deutzia Nikko.

We have Redbuds, Lilacs, Quince, Red & Yellow Twig Dogwoods and even a Red Twig with Variegated leaves. These Plants are beautiful and selling them for only $5.97 is a bit crazy but that is what we do. Our Mission is to make plants affordable for everyone so you can enjoy a beautiful Landscape! I better get right into the list cause you aren’t here to waste time. Hopefully I won’t get any crazier and make better deals for you. Sometimes I become inspired and get carried away and my wife kind of looks at me with that look that says here we go again! So here we go! We have Gold Flame, Gold Mound, Lemon Princess, Little Princess, and Anthony Water Spirea for only $5.97 each.  We have Bridal Wreath Spirea that make wonderful hedges with brilliant white blooms in the spring. If you ever drive past a property with a long brilliantly white flowered hedge in the spring, it more than likely is Bridal Wreath. All of these make beautiful flowers and foliage and are deer resilient. Deer may eat a deer resilient plant but a deer resilient plant, even if eaten down to the ground, will bounce back.  Come on over and ask me about more deer resilient plants and I’m sure I’ll remember some others.

We have Flowering Weigela’s like Java Red, a real blooming machine in late spring into early summer. We also have Red Prince, my wife’s favorite with its darker green foliage and bright red bell shaped flowers. The Variegated Weigela is another favorite with its pink and white bloom. All of these are easily kept to less than 36″ by trimming once a year. The Hummingbirds love the Bell Shaped Flower on the Weigela. We have Red Twig Dogwood, Yellow Twig Dogwood, and Variegated Dogwood to add color to your winter Landscape. They have white blooming flowers in the spring and then in fall the bark on these turn brilliantly colored! If  you don’t have one of these, get them for your Landscape now! Ninebark Nugget and Ninebark Royalty are a must! The yellow foliage of the Nugget and the Maroon Burgundy color of the Royalty and the white blooms make it a necessity to have at least one pair of these in your Landscape. We had a bumper crop of the Ninebark so we are rolling back the price of these to $4.97 each while they last. Yup, that was the price of our plants two years ago!!! I’m really crazy and I hope my family ignores my craziness and marks it up to old age. Oh yes, we have Viburnums like Burkwoodii, Arrowwood, and Summer Snowflake and only $5.97 each! I can smell the fragrant Viburnum just typing here. When the Burkwoodii is in bloom I stand and inhale deeply for a long time enjoying the fragrance. ————– Come back Tom-just thinking of that smell had me so relaxed I almost forgot I’ve got to list more plants.

Potentilla Gold Drop and Potentilla Abbottswood are little blooming machines in spring time and later. Just a little haircut in late spring gives you a very thick and beautiful bloom again! Hey now butterfly lovers, you need a Honeysuckle Butterfly (Native) with its yellow blooms that have the butterflies around it all day long. It is a great shrub that is very hardy. If you want to draw butterfly’s and have no luck with Butterfly Bush, give this one a try! I know I have at least 3 butterfly bushes as well, with each having different color blooms. zzzzzzzzzz I’m tiring, and luckily Kathy got me awake when she saw that $4.97 deal!  Yes we have Mock Orange, Hypericum Gemo, Forsythia, Inkberry Holly, Blue Girl and Blue Boy Holly, Aronia Chokeberry Viking that has beautiful foliage, beautiful flowers in spring and large black berries in the fall and they have an out of this world level of antioxidants. We have a summer blooming Clethra, even one that only grows to 1′-3′! Help, everything is running together in my mind. It’s the  short circuiting brain cells at work! Uh Oh, those short circuiting brain cells just told me that we have Itea Henry’s Garnet a beautiful Native Plant that has those white hanging flowers in summer and I can’t stop, doggone it, I’m selling these for only $4.97 each while they last. I just can’t stop making sure you have a beautiful landscape at bargain prices!!! Oh yes, Kathy just came in but didn’t see that and said she is here to rescue my tired brain. She said not to forget the Quince Cameo with its early Spring Salmon colored Flower Bloom and the Quince Crimson & Gold with its beautiful Red Blooms. Take a look at the pictures below. We had blooms on these in Mid March! Wow! If you don’t have Quince in your landscape, find a place and very early next spring you will be glad you did. I know there are more but I can’t find them all in my memory so come and take a look. Now wait, I have Redbuds for only $5.97 ea. What a bargain!!! and I have a few Japanese Red Maples for only $5.97 each and Hydrangea’s like Ruby Slippers, Pee Gee and more! Kathy is going to have me committed for this so come out and help me please.

Oh yes Evergreens. I almost forgot. For those who have limited space and grow things in containers on your porch and we have many evergreens that work well including Birds Nest Spruce, and Emerald Green Arborvitae. The Birds Nest are in limited supply so hurry if you want one for your container. We have Golden Globe Arborvitaes, Hetz Arborvitae, and my favorite called Lionsville (some say the same as the Cannonball). The Lionsville is soft and cuddly and is round ball shaped naturally. Amazing what a good cold glass of Healthy Tea will do for you cause I just remembered we have Gold Coast Juniper, Saybrook Gold that looks so rich and Sea Green Juniper that is fantastic in its own right.

Ground Covers, yes Ground Covers. We have Blue Rug Juniper, Blue Chip Juniper, and one to use on southern exposure banks called Cotoneaster Queen Of Carpets that grows very low and has small white flowers in the spring and red berries for the birds in the fall. I have other ground cover things somewhere around here but.

We have perennials for only $5.97 like Astible, Lavendar, Coral Bells, and more. Oh yes Hostas that are two for $5.97! I’ve got to finish this before I run out of energy. So many plants, so little time. Look, I know there are at least two other plants somewhere on this sale bed. Yes they are Purple Bell Flower and one kind of DayLilly that I can’t think of the name now and priced two for $5.97!!!! while they last! I’m really crazy but not stupid, I know this will get you out here to look these plants over and I know you will fall in love with some and adopt them and take them home with you!

Okay we have a huge selection of plants at $5.97 but not all the plants in our nursery are $5.97. We have larger plants that range from $7.97 to $39.97. Even at these prices they are a steal. Some customers even commented that they must be at wholesale prices!
