  Fall is the best time to plant shrubs, perennials and trees. The reason is simple. Mother nature signals the plants that it is time to grow those roots deeper into the soil so they survive the winter. The benefit to you is strong livability rates and your plants come out of dormancy right along with the weather in the spring giving your plants the advantage of being able to grow faster and having buds and blooms right on time. Fall planting usually means less watering as well.
